Synthesis vs crisis

THE ADULTHOOD (from 30 to 60-70 years) varies greatly depending on individual personality. In some cases the maturity replaces by time of decay after 40 years, on the contrary, in other cases, it is extended beyond the boundaries of longevity. For some people actually adulthood continues until the end of life and contrary passport age is not replaced by old age. Some researchers believe that having reached the maturity of the heyday the human stops his development and he stops to improve his professional skills, creativity, and etc. Then the decline, the gradual decrease of professional productivity stops, as well as people more often think over that fact that they are mortal, and their time is running out, deprivation of such motifs as harmony with the world and the ability to be themselves occurs, that results in a loss of sense of life.

One of the consequences of the midlife crisis is a phenomenon of professional "burnout" (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced sense of personal success). Among the identified preconditions "burnout" are self-doubt, impatience, a strong need for approval and control, inability to disengage from work, lack of feedback, mutual distrust. Many of these problems can be resolved with the help of art therapy. The most effective is to solve such problems with using a synthesis of the arts. With its help several tasks are achieved: active development of creativity and as a consequence of protection from "burn-in", looking for new ways for self-realization and self-actualization of human then after the withdrawal of crisis.The Art as sublime and subtle expression of problem existence has its own laws, has its own space and time, it has a special structure forms and methods of solving the material problems. One of the definitions which is given to the Art is: Art is concentrated, transferable to other expression of aesthetic vision of the world. Opening up different arts helps to find volumetric vision. It is common to many kinds of artistic activities is that they make acutely feel the complexity and diversity of life; they do not give simple guidelines and differ with possibility of its multiple interpretations. Any art is a system of signs, which detects the general nature of all the arts, which is the basis of their interaction, integration and synthesis.

Education of painting, poetry, stagecraft allows to help people experiencing a midlife crisis with all its consequences to find themselves, their sense of life. Real art just helps in it. The philosopher Roland Barthes says the Art "is fraught with sense" and there are enough senses for all those in need.

In art therapy when working with socially unprotected groups the creative process is important if it concerns members of industrial, scientific and other groups, particularly those engaged in management the result is important: it reinforces the development of creative skills affecting the efficiency and creative work and the ability to produce protection from "burnout"and as the main result— self-actualization.

Here there is a lyric digression. Dmitry Bykov in June, 2013 issue "Snob" wrote: "The professional manager is not the one who can yell more persuasively on the subordinate, but the one who knows how to complete the task better than his subordinate. That's why the most brilliant Russian managers have learned to drink blood and squeeze the sweat of the worker, but in the absence of a genius employee they are absolutely helpless. Russian tragedy is that the vast majority of its current population — non-professionals. They don't have basic knowledge in any area except survival. This is anti-profession or if you wish we can call it the school of lies and conformism. And yet, morality can only have a man who is accustomed to answer in front of himself and other people, and the school of such responsibility could be as it seems to me just only a profession, the experience of intelligent, conscious, favorite labor".

Only professional people work in our project, they give the basics of art primarily as a craft. Listeners receive real-world knowledge and skills. They learn to write poetry and paint with oil, learn the basics of stage movement and elocution, take part in the performance of choral vocal works. Here we are not talking about creating outstanding works of art, but rather an improvisation, spontaneous "Jazz" self-expression rights, introducing the basics of the various arts. Simultaneously being tested for art in which the client is better practice in the future for pre-service first, and

then skills. Each lesson ends with a special analysis of the day and psychotherapeutic conversation. Creative arts develop not only an aesthetic orientation, but also the independence of judgment, self-confidence, the ability to find the attractiveness of the difficulties, the ability to take risks. The project "Synthesis VS crisis" helps a person to gain self-knowledge tools, open up the development of artistic sensitivity, promote personal growth and the formation of life strategy, in which the more essential parties (friendship, love, etc.), the less existential problems.

Words to the participants of the program "Synthesis VS Crisis": New experience, new impressions.

In November 2011, we went to an art tour (program "Synthesis VS crisis") in Suzdal. We had been waiting for the tour for a long time and wanted to learn to paint landscapes. The town shocked me with its antiquity, numerous number of churches and monasteries, its spirituality and primeval. One had such a feeling that you were dropped back into the old days... you were a noblewoman and going in the carriage or a simple village girl in Russian sundress and a wreath of wild-flowers, walking around Russian fields and lands...

In the trip, I met wonderful creative people — musicians, poets and artists. Communicating with them, you can enrich the spiritually and realize that there is still much to develop and where to work creatively. All our life we do a career, to tell the truth I am fed up and have tired no strength!

We had been planning to go by car to Suzdal with some families for a long time. Now by the beaten track we can take husbands and children — we will certainly go!

Everyone is gathering with inspiration to these trips because you are not only going to obtain new knowledge about Russian cities, new experiences, but the most important is the open air. In Tarus, unexpectedly for myself, I was able to change the palette.

It began to play with new colors. Whether the cause of it was the Oka, or mood, or may be it was my own nature starting changing from landscape to landscape...

I am looking forward to the next trip!

The Art tour of the program "Synthesis VS Crisis" is becoming a good tradition, a fairy tale, which comes into my life. It's so simple to get into the car and travel to new places the whole day ... However, in Moscow, as a rule, we walk in the same familiar parks, because all the time in a work schedule — even at weekends we do not allow ourselves to relax.

Painting lessons turn consciousness, you look at things from a different angle, you begin to see the nature and the world around us, and with a new company you can always find out something new.

Abramtzevo turned out to be a small estate. It is a very pleasant place to stroll. We visited all the museums on its territory, walked in the park, took pictures. At the exhibition "Russian artists" I looked into snow pictures by Grabar and Konchalovsky. Immediately after visiting the museum the most interesting for me in this trip happened

— this was the first winter plein air in my life!

Summary: new places, new experiences, new impressions, new pleasant acquaintances...

After the trip, at home, I painted birches in Abramtzevo.

I learned how to draw!

For many years I was going to start painting in oils. But I couldn't find the time. Quite recently 

1    have decided at last. I found in the Internet the place close to my work where it was possible to be taught — Performing Arts Center at the Exhibition Hall "Hodynka". I phoned to the Center; I wanted to know if I could try to start writing in oils, and when. I was suggested to start doing it immediately. I drove up to the Hall, we went to the studio master, and, as it turned out, trying myself not knowing the basics,was complicated and we started working together — the artist was working over his painting, and I was working over my own.

I will not describe the entire process, but I want to share my impressions: the process fascinated me so much that I forgot about the time, my wife's call returned me into reality. It took only

2    hours, and the work had been almost completed.

That new, or, rather,well-forgotten state of creative excitement I had not felt since my youth since I sang in the children's choir, as if I breathed in fresh air, saw a part of some new, free life, and all because I just painted, albeit small, but my own "work of art".

Unfolding at home my painting, small in size but huge on the effect it impacted on me as the author of the "masterpiece", I made an indelible impression on my home inhabitants and now they call me let it be a novice but the" creator"!

I want to continue to draw, so we have agreed with my mentor, leader of the "anticrisis Synthesis" project, and he is also the director of the Exhibition Hall "Hodynka" Oleg Fedorov.

"Hodynka" has influenced on my life

Lessons in the studio "Hodynka" which were part of the project"Synthesis VS the crisis, gave me the opportunity to open up as a creative person, try myself in different areas of art, self-actualization. But I think there is sense to tell about everything in turn.

A modern man, being forced into the urban life, weighed down by the contemplation of the urban landscape, and burdened with the daily routine work in the office, is gradually turning into a "zombie" who devotes all his energy on making money and its spending. However, a person does not lose the need for spiritual nourishment.The studio in "Hodynka" has become for me a place where these needs can be implemented.

Classes in drama school, the lessons of artistic expression, guitar lessons, photography, cinema, poetry — I had an opportunity to try out different arts like other participants of the project. Indeed, an adult is more difficult to start doing something new and we often hear from friends: "I could have been a lovely artist (painter, poet, musician, etc.), but the time has been lost, it is too late to learn". At the same time, we all have great potential, which we do not even suspect. Such activities help to reveal this potential both to a young and an adult. Any human is a piece of actor, poet, musician, and artist. Practical lessons helped me to extend the boundaries of self-discovery, made me believe in myself.

To believe in yourself means to make sure that you're capable of something. And this belief starts spreading to all spheres of life — family, work.

By the way, if work is concerned I can say that the level of creativity has increased significantly. The ability of a multilateral approach to solve creative tasks is meant. Practice in the studio was like learning the model of life perception: it makes sense to look at yourself and everything around you from the different sides, do not go on narrow gauge, off the beaten track, etc., look for various clues to solve life tasks.

In conclusion, I would like to say that after the course "Synthesis VS crisis" I decided to change the sphere of work, received a second degree — retrained into a designer- printer, and began to

study languages: English and Italian, took up belly-dancing, and eventually got married, gave a birth to a child.

In such a way" Hodynka" has impacted on my life.

Experience of creative Impromptus

It was very interesting to open a lot of new in my old acquaintances and make new friends. I am a professional writer, but in my youth I tried to draw, it was very pleasant after 20 years to remember this forgotten feeling and within a couple of hours to learn professional techniques of working with oil paints. And my drawn still-life became a wonderful gift to my wife — much more valuable than a Gzhelian souvenir which I bought at the Museum "Abramtzevo".

Spirit of creative competition in literary improvisations allowed everyone to show their knowledge and original approach to drama.

But work on the performance of collective scenario united everybody into a single team. Improvised scaffolding left everyone the opportunity to express its individuality, not forgetting how important it was to stick to the

script, while remaining within the chosen role, how important it was to listen carefully and execute accurately the installation of the director.

Afternoon tea, with chatting "Compliments of the circle", when everyone told about everyone, but only good things, brought a lot of pleasant moments. More important for me was the opportunity to apologize to friends for longstanding grudges, accidentally inflicted in friendly battles. To tell them in a very informal surroundings those good words that I did not have a reason to say, even in the holiday feast.

The experience of creative impromptus creative in all kinds of art, the experience of finding compromises in a team game, acquired during the trip helped me to perceive the world more flexibly, recalled the great creative possibilities of collective "brainstorming" in resolving any difficulties.

Charge creative energy

...People revealed on the program unexpectedly. That's what I want to say about its final phase.

Ability to pay compliments, and do it quite frankly, is necessary in our daily life. Sharing your good mood with the people around you, getting back a charge of positive energy, — what could be better? And it helps a lot in life, especially in complicated and difficult situations. So lessons in the program "Synthesis VS crisis" despite the tight time schedule and hard rhythm eventually bring a lot of positive. It is like getting recharged a spirit of creative energy from the art battery. And this charge, I assure you, will last long enough.

Obtaining the harmony

In the project "Synthesis VS crisis", in my opinion, there are all the signs of creativity and human happiness. Yes, that is exactly so. As etymologically "happiness" goes back to "the combination of all the parts" i.e., wholeness of being "here and now". Perhaps this is the keyword and fundamental goal — finding the harmony in you, and among colleagues, even temporary.

In each person there is the opportunity and the desire to create. Someone cultivates it on the level of profession, someone finds it in a social projection, and only suspects it dimly, and for some people it's their hobby. But that any sphere of human activity requires creative injection, hardly anyone would argue.

Charm of design is not simply in synthetism of genres, but, rather, in their sequence, where the creative efforts suggest some exponent, at the highest point of which is the most comprehensive and intensive genre - the art of the theater, where people play without discounts for Professional Education and internal systems.

In fact, the most important task of the project is ripping off the blinders and barriers to perceive the world and ourselves in the world as essentially we are. I am more than twenty years devoted to serving the scene in particular and art in general, and thought that my creative efficiency reached its ceiling. After having gone to Abramtzevo I realized how much I was mistaken. And I'm glad to realize it.

The meeting of teachers

On September 6, 2013 there was a meeting about the project "Synthesis of Art".

It was attended by

Maximilian Potemkin (Literature), Ivan Maksimuk (Design), Khachatur Makaryan (Painting), Diana and Sergei Kuznetsov Ul'yanenkov (Theater), and Eugene Kozhevnikov (a client) and Oleg Fedorov (Project manager).

The meeting was dedicated to informing teachers about CESIS projects and "Synthesis VS Crisis» and their role in the projects. Participation of teachers in CESIS conducted in "Hodynka" on a regular basis under the contracts, as well as earning paid profile studios.The main thing in their current activities is development of techniques for the project "Synthesis VS the crisis".

The root concept that formed the basis of Sergei and Diana's training was the action. How often do we need silence to say more than we can say with words? How is it important for us to feel the power of the words and send it to the person with whom we speak to? Don't we have to convince the interlocutor devoutly using and pronouncing the same words differently?

Occupation affects our everyday life, such fragments as public speaking, presentation and sale of the ideas, desired impression on the interlocutor.

Of course, to overcome all the internal discomfort and uncertainty in one class is not possible, nor learn to send the right signal to the other person — it's still a question of much work on ourselves. Nevertheless, this occupation has a significant positive effect. First, you are specific and clearly aware of the weaknesses of communication and the possession of the power of persuasion. The actors teaching the classes can give professional feedback on this issue. Secondly, it is an opportunity to play and be a kid. Of course, not everyone will relax immediately and surrender to occupation, but in the process will come to feel some ease, and it is really important under stress and congestion of the head in different projects and problems. Thirdly, this occupation is an opportunity for teachers to see each other in the new circumstances, to strengthen their relationship, get to know each other better and eventually gain synergies from synthesis of the arts.

Ivan Maksimuk cited about great significance of the entire project of the team by the results of the classes. Participation of all teachers in all classes of the project will allow them to feel a synergistic effect themselves, help in personal and professional development, as well as bring together all the team.

He also emphasized the fact that potential customers wiould be interested in seeing the unicity of the project in commercials. One of the main features of the project is diving into the atmosphere of the client co-creation. And more over it will be interesting to see teachers as clients. Today the writer and the artist have been to the actors' lessons. The next time everybody will change roles. At first when clients see how actually a class takes place, and secondly, both directly and vividly teachers behave under various kinds of Art, the most imbued with empathy to the composition of the project team and it will be one more reason to participate in the program "Synthesis VS the crisis".

Conclusion

The project"Synthesis VS Crisis" creates the given circumstances in a relaxed game atmosphere in which anyone with a desire can determine for themselves the path to self-realization and Art.

1. Work only with those who you like.

When I started, I thought that professionalism was the ability to work with any client. But over the

years it became clear that the most meaningful and good design was coined for those customers who later became my friends. It seems that the sympathy of our work is more important than professionalism.

2.    If you have a choice, not a "be hired'" on the job.

I once heard an interview with the great composer and philosopher John Cage. He was then 75. The host asked: "How can we prepare for old age"? I will always remember Cage's answer: "I have one piece of advice. Never go to work. If during your lifelong every day you go to the office every day, once you will expose the door and be sacked. And then you certainly will not be ready for old age — it finds you unexpectedly. Look at me. I still write music. Life has not changed after I became an old man".

3.    Avoid unpleasant people.

This is a continuation of the first rule. In the 60s one therapist worked, his name was Fritz Perls. He suggested that in all respects people poison the lives of each other, or feed it. In this case everything depends not on human rights, namely the relationship. You know, there's a simple way to test how communication with somebody effects on you. Spend some time with that man: dine, stroll or enjoy a glass of something together. And pay attention to how you will feel after this meeting — enthusiastic or tired. And everything will be clear.

4.    Experience is not enough.

I have already said that in my youth I was obsessed with professionalism. In fact, the experience — is another limitation. If you need a surgeon, you are likely to refer to someone who has done just this operation many times.

In creative work everything is on the contrary — a good person who does not repeat afteryourself and others.

5.    Less is not always better.

We have all heard the expression "it is better less, but better". This is not entirely true. One fine morning, I woke up and realized that it was probably bullshit. It maybe sounds good, but in our area, this paradox does not make sense. Think about the work of Gaudi, except in their case, "less" would be better? The same can be said about the Art Nouveau style and a lot of that yet.

6.    Lifestyle changes mindset.

The brain is the most sensitive organ in our body. It is most susceptible to changes and regeneration. A few years ago in the newspaper a curious story about the search for perfect pitch flashed. As it is well known, it happens rarely even among musicians. I do not know how, but scientists have found that people with perfect pitch have another structure of the brain — somehow deformed some share. I am sure that the drawing affects the brain no less than music lessons. But instead of hearing we develop attention. The person who draws, draws attention to what is happening around him — and it is not as easy as it seems.

7.    It does not matter.

Once I was given a book by Roger Rosenblatt's "Getting older beautifully". I did not like the name, but the content was interesting. The very first rule, proposed by the author, was the best. It sounds like this: "it does not matter". Follow this rule and it will add to your life decades. No matter you are late or come in time, here you or there, silent, or whether you've told something, you are smart or stupid. No matter what your hair is like and how your friends look at you. Whether you will be promoted at work, whether you will buy a new house, whether you will get the Nobel Prize — it does not matter...

8.    Doubt is better than certainty.

Everyone talks about how important confidence in what you're doing. My yoga teacher once said: "If you think you have achieved enlightenment, you just ran into your own framework."This is true not only in the spiritual practice, but also in the work: perfection is infinite development. I get nervous when someone believes something categorically...
